John Heartfield’s beloved brother, Wieland, was arguably the most important person in Heartfield’s professional life. It was Wieland who brought Jonny to Berlin and introduced him to the “right” people. Wieland was Johnny’s partner in the Malik-Verlag publishing house. After Jonny’s death, Wieland was his biographer.
