Wieland Herzfelde was his brother’s most important promoter. He brought the young artist to Berlin and introduced him to the right people. He was Heartfield’s partner in the Berlin publishing House, Malik-Verlag. Wieland took care of the business end, allowing his brother to concentrate on his groundbreaking graphic designs.
In 1962, Wieland published a comprehensive Heartfield monograph Verlag der Kunst (Emperor Of Art) in Dresden.
John Heartfield participates in the V. Deutsche Kunstausstellung (Fifth German Art Exhibition).
